What drew you to want to work at Fujifilm?
I was always interested in photography as a hobby, and when the opportunity to work for one of the premier names in the photographic industry presented itself I said I had to go for it.
What have you learned while working at Fujifilm?
I learned the ins and outs of the wholesale photofinishing industry, as well as how technology is improving it. Photofinishing used to be just film and prints. Now, with the growth of digital cameras, digital images are growing at a staggering pace. People are taking more pictures and it is easier than ever to get those pictures developed into prints by way of websites and self-service kiosks, which are both products of new technology in the photographic industry.
What surprised you most about working at Fujifilm?
I was and am still surprised that, even though Fujifilm is a large multi-national corporation, we still do many things the way a small business would. We work in small teams to accomplish our objectives. Most people wear multiple hats and pitch in when needed to help out another team member. We all act as one.
What is your favorite memory/moment while working at Fujifilm?
A small group of coworkers and I have an unofficial running club at work. We try to get out every day at lunchtime to run and decompress a little before getting back to work for the day. The friendships I have made with my running buddies make coming into the office each day really enjoyable.
